About Us - Statewide

The Statewide office of the Rural Development Project manages the grants received from the U.S. Department of Labor. These grants are to the University of Hawaii and are overseen by the Principal Investigator, Clyde M. Sakamoto, Chancellor of Maui Community College. We are located on the lower campus of Maui Community College in the Multi-Purpose Building 215.

The Statewide office works closely with the UH Office of Research Services (ORS) and the RDP Directors on all islands to meet the needs of the Department of Labor. We write the grants and any modifications that are needed during the Period of Performance and are responsible for all quarterly and final program reports as well as all program audits and financial reports to ORS. For all Statewide programs, the Statewide office is responsible for personnel and procurement of all travel, supplies, equipment, and training costs.
