The Hawai'i Community College (HawCC) Rural Development Project (RDP) is housed under the Office of Continuing Education & Training (OCET) on the Manono campus. Currently, HawCC RDP manages several projects such as the expansion of the Machine, Welding and Industrial Mechanics (MWIM) Program; supporting the Applied Technical Education Construction Academy, and assisting the Big Island Workplace Connection (BIWC). In future projects HawCC’s RDP will focus on addressing the ever-changing workplace demands for appropriately educated and work-ready employees for Hawai'i’s growing “green” labor market and sustainability movement.
